The more stamps the charity gets, the more money we get and the longer we can continue to run the free service we offer.
Bryn Tudor Mobility Advice Lines Managing Director has been requested to assist in providing Medical/Disability Advice for a Theatre Company. Jadis Shadows Productions a Midlands based Theatre Company has contacted MAL asking if Bryn could become their Medical/Disability Advisor for their forth coming production of Richard III. Bryn will be advising the actor playing Richard III on how King Richard III disability would have affected him and how he would have moved, felt etc. Bryn is said to be looking forward to the task.
Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne and the Conservative Party has once again shown us exactly what they stand for. Mr Osborne’s latest infinitive is to cut a further £10bn from Welfare Benefits. Mr Osborne at the time of writing this has not yet specified which benefits he plans to cut apart from Child Benefit. As Child Benefit is not my area of expertise, it would be unfair of me to comment.
Disability Benefits is my area of expertise and to date Disability Living Allowance (DLA) has been stopped and replaced with the unfair Peoples Independence Payment (PIP) and Incapacity Benefit (IB) has been stopped and replaced with Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) so what next Mr Osborne?
As some may know, DLA and The Motability Scheme work together but we do not know if PIP and The Motability Scheme will work together. If they do not, then this will lead to many questions such as:
What will happen to those currently still in contracts?
For those who reply on a car or Mobility Scooter or Wheelchair to have independence/freedom and whose only means of paying is via The Motability Scheme. How will the Government help?
During Mr Osborne’s speech at the Conservative Party Conference, he stated, “Benefit claimants should be forced to make sacrifices to help the government balance the books”. Yet the Liberal Democrats suggested a “Property Tax” designed to hit the wealthy but Mr Osborne has so far ruled out this excellent proposal.
I just hope that Mr Osborne never becomes disabled and unable to work, otherwise he will see just how us Disabled members of society really do not cope, though I’m sure he will not need to claim PIP with his current wage and savings!
